At a time when ignorance and irreverence, fear and hatred are sweeping the nation and polarizing it's diverse and multi-cultural people into armed camps, we propose the comprehensive development and expansion of "Community Cultivations" as an agent of unity and social reform. The enormous power of the mass media to persuade and influence public opinion and behavior has never been exaggerated.

 

For the most part, this power has been in the hands of the federal government and the commercial sponsors who respectively regulate and finance literally every aspect of the industry. It is our contention that these entities have over the fifty or more years of its history compromised the cultural upliftment of American audiences in the interest of social manipulation and profits. The deliberate selection and broadcasting of seemingly innocent, mindless cartoons and situation comedy programs instilled divisive, anti-social and self destructive values into a gullible, child-like population. Today that child-like population has grown-up and the values instilled by media programming are stronger and more clearly reflected in the behavior of Americans than those of the church, school or the family.

 

Community Cultivations explores the cause and effect relationship between the characters plots and conclusions of mass media programming and the numerous social problems that have Americans most concerned. The unique perspective of our reviews; one that examines the psycho-socio orientation of said programming, are part of a more comprehensive system of educational/motivational courses currently being applied in schools and social service agencies public and private.
