"Community Cultivations" is a title given to a collection of articles and essays compiled in book form. Its primary focus is the mass media; i.e. television, movies and radio programming and their psycho-socio impact upon the community at large. These essays and articles provide a totally unique perspective of mass media programming that has enhanced public appreciation of cultural arts. Further, Community Cultivations utilizes this most effective medium to advance the moral and intellectual excellence of Americans in general and African-Americans in particular.
"The Gift of Friendship" - a message from Lionel Abdul-Haqq

Friendship is a precious gift, that cannot be bought or sold,

But it's value is far greater than a mountain made of gold,

For gold is cold and lifeless tt can neither see nor feel,

and in the time of trouble it is powerless to HEAL

It has no ears to listen, no heart to understand,

it cannot bring you comfort or extend a helping hand,

So when you ask The One, God, Allah, for a Gift,

be thankful if He sends

not diamonds, pearls or riches

but the Love of Real, True Friends

Thank you!!
